Paris Mayor KYLIAN MBAPPE has criticized after he was mocked at a question about using a jet plane to fly to a match against Nantes.
Paris Saint-Germain defeated the French Ligue 1 team 3-0 on Saturday and Mbappe scored twice.
But when a reporter suggested that the team should travel to such matches by train rather than plane, the France striker received no response.
Instead, he burst into laughter as his manager Christoph Galtier rejected the reporter’s suggestion of a sarcastic response.
“This morning we spoke about it with the company that organizes our trips and we are looking forward to traveling on sandy yachts,” he said.
Nantes is located 239 miles from Paris and can be reached via a two-hour high-speed train.
Therefore, many French politicians were outraged by the careless position of the Paris Saint-Germain player, including Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo.
She replied on Twitter, “No response for things like this??? Wake up guys??? This is Paris.”
French Sports Minister Amelie Odea Castera added: “Mr. Galtier – we are used to more relevant and responsible answers from you. Shall we talk about it?”
Mbappe was also criticized by Economy Minister Bruno Le Maire, who told BFM-TV: “I adore Mbappe and it could happen to all of us that we burst out laughing at the wrong moment.

“We must all take climate change seriously. It is a serious matter, about our planet and our ability to live on this planet.”
PSG is said to take climate change seriously but does not consider rail travel a viable option due to security concerns.
